Department Achievements

Thirty percent of Anesthesia Department staff are members of the Saudi Anesthesia Society, which is presided by the Chairman of Anesthesia Department. The Society has recently held a global conference on Anesthesiology in which many speakers from around the world were invited, and has signed an agreement with the General Secretariat of the Saudi Health Council. Furthermore, the department conducts awareness-raising activities, on and off campus, on all fields of anesthesiology. The department also oversees the KSU Anesthesia Fellowship Program and subspecialty fellowships of thoracic anesthesia and regional anesthesia, which is the only one of its kind in the Kingdom. The academic staff teach more than 350 students in operating rooms. Lastly, the department is proud to have had many studies conducted by Anesthesia physicians published in international journals and is honored to have the department's journal recognized and indexed by ISI in October 2016.
