About the Department
The Department of Pediatrics has always been working towards a clear vision and mission in line with the objectives of College of Medicine and King Saud University. Moreover, it aims to have a leading role in fields of child health, community service, medical education and research through:
- Providing distinguished medical services for children with the help of a group of internationally qualified physicians from different international centers in all subspecialties who perform their mission in accordance with international standards and guidelines in a modern environment. The department also provides primary and health care services in well-child clinics and pediatric immunization clinics. In addition, the department has a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) that are equipped with the latest medical technology.
- Delivering a pediatrics course to medical students in theoretical and practical medical education.
- Overseeing the training of pediatricians who, upon successful completion of training, receive the Saudi Board and Arab Board in pediatrics and its subspecialties, owing to the fact that the department has been playing a leading role in this field.
- Constantly promoting scientific research as the department has several research chairs in different fields and is proud to have many scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals every year.
