Nuclear Medicine Examination Uni
This unit is located on the second floor of Building (1). It has five machines used for nuclear medicine tests and are distributed in five different rooms. Two of the newly installed machines are equipped with mounted gamma cameras with built-in hybrid imaging with low-radiation CT scan, and one machine has built-in gamma camera and the other has a mounted gamma camera. The fifth machine (DEXA) is used for bone densitometry. The unit performs nuclear medicine tests using radioisotopes to examine skeletal and musculoskeletal systems, as well as glands, kidneys, liver, heart and the rest of the body.
It should be noted that one of these machines is used for thallium stress tests and another one is used for bone density tests. The unit examines more than thirty patients a day during regular working hours, which start from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. After regular working hours, staff shall be on call for emergencies.
