General Radiology Unit
General Radiology Unit
It is located on the second floor of the hospital (Building 1) and is the largest unit in the department. It has nine radiology rooms (with stationary machines) and fourteen mobile radiography units (normal and digital) for clinical examination in all internal departments including five intensive care units and ten operating rooms in addition to patients under observation in ER or ambulances. These units are used to perform general radiological examinations of the skeletal system, respiratory system, head, spine, urogenital system, and breasts on male and female patients. Some of these examinations include special tests using contrast media for the examination of kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra, uterus, fallopian tubes and mammary glands. The unit operates around the clock on three shifts on a rotational basis (day, night and midnight), and an average of 350 patients are examined per day.
