Welcome to the Department of Psychiatry at King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh. The Psychiatry Department is part of the University Hospitals of King Saud University, one of the largest providers of health care services and medical education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Psychiatry Department at King Khalid University Hospital offers a wide range of services aimed at collaboratively working with people who have psychiatric disorders.

As the Chairman of the Psychiatry Department, I am proud to be associated with such dynamic group of individuals. Many of our Psychiatrists have over 10 years of both clinical and academic experience, most of them also have degree and clinical experience both here and abroad and this level of expertise cannot be easily matched in the industry.

Our Psychiatry Department focuses on establishing excellence in patient care, medical education and clinical research to meet the goals of King Saud University. We continuously provide our patients with the highest quality of primary, secondary and tertiary psychiatric health services that respects the safety, dignity and confidentiality of every patient in accordance with the Saudi Law.    

Our department’s offer undergraduates and post graduates medical education programs, as well as trainings, for medical students, interns and residents from different colleges and universities.  All our faculty members are actively involved in teaching our own residents, interns and King Saud medical students.

We are proud that our Residency Program and Fellowships continue to thrive and expand. We are one of the most renowned training institution for medicine, health care professionals and medical research in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We have the Psychiatry Residency Program and the Psychosomatic Medicine fellowship which we began accepting fellows in 2015. We also offer a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which was started in 2014 and soon we will start the fellowship program in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in our department.
