Unit tasks

1.    Establish a comprehensive database of faculty members and Demonstrators.
2.    Identify and actively support the interests and initiatives of current faculty members.
3.    Attract and retain exceptional faculty members and demonstrators.
4.    Provide guidance to Demonstrators in planning their postgraduate studies abroad to meet international quality standards.
5.    Prepare, update and publish general guidelines for new faculty members.

To support and assist Demonstrators and lecturers, as well as faculty members by providing access to educational and developmental training programmers. This commitment will foster a positive environment that serves as a role model for students and the broader community

Vision

In alignment with the vision of the College of Medicine and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, the unit is dedicated to attract exceptional talents and promising competencies across various fields related to the College of Medicine. We aim to support faculty members in achieving academic success by facilitating their pursuit of postgraduate studies in accredited medical programmers, both locally and internationally The unit also supports faculty members in all their needs and specializations.

About the Unit

The Demonstrators and lecturers Support Unit was established in June 2012.
The Dean of the College of Medicine decided to expand the unit's scope to include all faculty members within the college, and changed the name of the unit to (Faculty Affairs and Demonstrators Support Unit) on 20 February, 2017.  This unit is concerned with providing support and assisting faculty members in all categories

Postgraduate programs at the College of Medicine, King Saud University, began in 1404 AH with the Diploma in Ophthalmology, which was the first medical postgraduate program in the Kingdom and was later converted into a fellowship program.

By the academic year 1445 AH (2023/2024), the number of postgraduate programs (Diploma, Master’s, PhD, Board, Fellowship) reached 135 programs.

Center tasks

1. Regulate
  - Establish and uphold high educational standards for postgraduate medical training, ensuring compliance with the regulatory frameworks set by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) and international accreditation bodies.
  - Align educational programs with the objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Vision, emphasizing innovation, quality, and the development of a sustainable healthcare system.
