The Department organizes an intensive clinical course annually for any interested prospective candidate for the Arab/Saudi Board Examinations. This course has attained some degree of popularity amongst residents within and outside the Kingdom. Department staff as well as leading authorities in obstetrics and gynaecology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are usually to participate in the course.
The department also organizes an internal symposium in obstetrics and gynaecology annually. Leading figures in the specialty as well the subspecialities within the kingdom and internationally are usually invited to present papers during such symposia.
A skill lab is being conducted at the King Khalid University Hospital. The lab is degined to expose students (both under and post graduate) to real life clinical situations in the speciality using dummies and mannequins. This obviates the need for human patients for practical obstetrics and gynaecology with the attendant difficulties.
Other Activities
The Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department at the KKUH is one of the biggest academic/clinical department at the King Saud Medical  College.
The king Khalid University Hospital, being a tertiary centre, accepts complicated cases referred to it from other medical institution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
It is one of the centre for the training of post graduates in obstetrics and gynaecology. It is recognized by the Saudi Council for medical specialization, the Arab Board and the saudi Association of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in the K.S.A
The department is equipped with very modern and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic tools which help to give the best to patient who present.
