Laser and Cutaneous Surgery Fellowship Program

Introduction:

Department of dermatology was established in 1997. Before that it was a subdivision of internal medicine. The department is involved in the teaching of the undergraduate students and postgraduate for the Saudi Board and King Saud University Fellowship in Dermatology. There has been a dramatic increase in patient demand for dermatologic health care since 2000, with a corresponding increase in the number of aesthetic and surgical procedures. The adequacy of current training for residents and fellows to meet patient demand is critical for patient safety and for the future of the dermatology specialty. The  competition is fierce for the very few fellowship positions available to board certified Saudi dermatologists seeking to acquire advanced competence in the field of laser and cutaneous surgery.
