Family and Community Medicine Unit
Family Medicine Unit:
The unit performs the following tasks:
- Trains and teaches medical students in family medicine courses and doctors and postgraduate students in the Saudi Fellowship.
- The members of the faculty conduct field research in various fields of family medicine to support the scientific research process within the vision and plan of King Saud University.
- Provides health services to patients in primary clinics at King Khalid University Hospital and King Abdulaziz University Hospital.
- Provides health awareness and participate in educational activities in coordination with Health Education Department in University Hospitals.
Community Medicine Unit:
- Teach the Faculty of Medicine students the foundations and principles of preventive health services and community medicine as well as the methodology and methods of scientific research.
- Teach master's degree students public health through a selection of visiting professors in partnership with the faculty members in the unit.
- Faculty members participate in teaching and supervising graduate students enrolled in field epidemiology program as well as supervising field research and systematic reviews during the academic year.
- Conducts field research and systematic reviews, focusing on research problems related to the Kingdom.
- Provide professional support to the Faculty of Medicine members in terms of scientific research, statistical and data analysis methods for the production of distinguished research.
- Participate with the Ministry of Health and the Military Hospital in the training of Community Medicine fellowship students and supervise the scientific research.
