![]() About Us The Audiology and Balance Unit at the ENT Department sees approximately 9,000 patients annually, offering comprehensive services for hearing and balance disorders. The team consists of 12 skilled professionals, including specialists, senior specialists, and consultants in audiology. Known for being one of the largest and most advanced units in the region, it is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to diagnose and manage hearing loss, dizziness, vertigo, and balance issues across all age groups. In addition to clinical care, the unit plays a vital role in education, providing training for audiology and medical students, interns, ENT residents, and fellows in ENT subspecialties. It is also actively engaged in research and publications, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field of audiology and balance disorders. Through these efforts, the unit remains a leader in both clinical care and education in the region. | ![]() |

Unit Tasks |
1. The unit is responsible for diagnosing hearing-related disorders across all ages, which includes both subjective and objective assessments such as pure tone audiometry, visual reinforcement audiometry (VRA), play audiometry, and speech audiometry. |
2. It also conducts middle ear assessments, OAE (Otoacoustic Emissions), acoustic reflexes, and ABR (Auditory Brainstem Response). |
3. The unit performs newborn hearing screening and offers hearing aid fitting and verification, as well as cochlear implant programming and verification. |
4. In terms of vertigo assessment, the unit conducts various procedures, including positional and positioning tests, VNG (Videonystagmography), rotational testing, caloric testing, VEMP (Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potential), ECOG (Electrocochleography), and vHIT (video Head Impulse Test). |
5. Additionally, the unit provides vestibular rehabilitation to help manage balance and dizziness disorders. |

2. Research Committee: Concentrates on conducting scientific research related to hearing and balance disorders and publishing results in scientific journals. |
3. Training Committee: Aims to train audiology students, medical residents, and specialists in related medical fields. |
4. Cochlear Implant Committee: Focuses on cochlear implant programs, device programming, and support for patients with severe hearing loss. |
