About Us

The Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the College of Medicine, King Saud University, was established in 1975 (1394 AH), making it the oldest academic department of its kind in the Kingdom. It has contributed to the graduation of generations of specialists who have been instrumental in developing otolaryngology services in Saudi Arabia.

Located within King Abdulaziz University Hospital at King Saud University, the department provides comprehensive care for patients across various otolaryngology and head and neck surgery subspecialties, including: nasal, sinus, and skull base surgery; ear and hearing surgery; pediatric otolaryngology; head and neck oncology; laryngeal and voice surgery; sleep surgery and sleep apnea; and plastic surgery. It also offers hearing and balance, speech, and swallowing services.

The department plays a pivotal role in smart education, teaching medical students, training and mentoring fellows, and contributing to building a sufficient number of qualified healthcare professionals to serve the community. The department also leads a team of secular researchers to improve the quality of care, working in the field of ear, nose and throat, including work that positively impacts the health of the local and regional community.
