Established in 1975, the Otolaryngology Department at King Saud University’s Faculty of Medicine is the oldest otolaryngology academic department in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Over the years, it has made significant strides, evolving in tandem with the nation’s growth to become one of the largest academic departments in the field. The department encompasses a comprehensive range of specialties in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. It plays a pivotal role in educating students at the Faculty of Medicine, King Saud University, and other medical colleges across the Kingdom, as well as graduate students from various regions of the Kingdom and the Gulf States.
The department offers a well-structured residency program, along with fellowship programs that provide high-volume specialized training. Renowned as a leading department in the Middle East, it benefits from the support of King Saud University and the Faculty of Medicine in scientific research, producing numerous research papers and patents annually, leveraging the available resources.
