About Us
The psychosomatic medicine unit is dedicated to enhancing patient care by offering a range of services for individuals referred by physicians from various medical specialties. We welcome referrals from all inpatient wards at KKUH during our operating hours, which are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We look forward to collaborating with healthcare teams to support our patients' well-being.
VISION
To build a prominent psychosomatic medicine unit dedicated to providing top-notch holistic psychiatric care in a medical environment. We are focused on developing innovative approaches to teaching, training, and research in the psychosomatic field, fostering collaboration and growth for both patients and professionals.
MISSION
To enhance psychosomatic medicine services offered to medical, surgical, and obstetric departments and their patients, promoting a comprehensive approach that integrates mental and physical health care.
Furthermore, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that unites training, research, and healthcare, ultimately driving improvements in patient well-being and outcomes.
SCOPE OF SERVICE:
1. Conduct assessments and provide treatment for patients in various hospital wards, as well as offer psychological consultations to departments and units within the University Medical City.
2. Training mental health professionals to acquire essential skills and uphold ethical standards while developing assessment methods and effective interventions for individuals with psychosocial disorders. This includes applying evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.
3. Advancing scientific understanding in the field of physical psychiatry and actively working to enhance and revitalize its practices.
4. Promoting the integration of mental and physical health within the community.
5. Offering expert scientific advice in the field of physical psychiatry.
6. Enhancing team members' professional and scientific performance within the unit.
