ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

 

•The Department of Physiology is one of the basic health sciences departments in the Faculty of Medicine, King Saud University, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The department of physiology was established in 1391 H. (1971 G.) and since its establishment, it is involved in various academic and research activities.
•The department is also supervising the day-to-day work of Clinical Physiology Department in King Khalid and King Abdulaziz University Hospitals.
•The department is teaching Physiology to undergraduate medical students as well as the undergraduate students of other health colleges of King Saud University including College of Dentistry, College of Pharmacy, College of Apllied Medical Sciences and College of Nursing.
•The department also offers the postgraduate MSc and PhD Programmes in physiology with the collaboration of Postgraduate Medical Centre in the College of Medicine.
 
Vision
•The Department seeks to be a recognized and distinguished unit in the field of physiology all across the Middle East. The department is also determined to expand and promote the intellectual abilities of undergraduate and postgraduate students by providing excellent teaching and research facilities.
 

Mission

•The Mission of the Department of Physiology is to achieve some goals of KSA vision 2030 by carrying out world-class health-impacting research and deliver high class evidence-based teaching to produce graduates of good virtue and of highest international standards, who can provide best health care services to our community as well as abroad.
•In accord with the mission of KSU College of Medicine, the department of physiology is also committed to research activities directed at solving health problems related to Saudi community at large.
