Department of Dermatology

The Department of Dermatology at the College of Medicine at King Saud University is one of the leading departments in the field of studying and treating diseases of the skin, hair and nails. The department was established as a unit affiliated with the Department of Internal Medicine, but it became an independent department in 1417 AH, and since then it has witnessed remarkable development in the fields of education, research and medical services.


• Providing specialized training for medical students, residents and fellows in continuing education and research to advance patient care.
• Promoting research, especially in skin diseases prevalent among the local population.
• Educating healthcare professionals who can address public health challenges related to skin diseases, such as awareness campaigns against monkeypox.
• Integrating innovative technologies and methods into healthcare such as laser therapy, and genetic research related to skin diseases.
• Community awareness by spreading awareness about skin diseases, their clinical manifestations and treatment methods on the educational platforms of the Department of Dermatology on Twitter (X) and TikTok @Derma_KSU and holding periodic awareness events inside and outside the hospital in Riyadh with the participation of medical doctors to spread awareness about various skin diseases.

The Department of Dermatology seeks to provide advanced academic and training programs aimed at preparing highly qualified physicians and researchers. The department focuses on enhancing medical education and scientific research through the development of innovative curricula and teaching methods.
