The Department of Pathology’s vision, mission, and goals reflect its academic and professional role in preparing healthcare professionals, advancing research, and supporting excellence in diagnostic and laboratory medicine in alignment with the College of Medicine and King Saud University.

To be a national and international leader in pathology education, diagnostic services, patient care, and scientific research.

Mission

The department is committed to delivering high-quality medical education, advancing research in pathology and laboratory medicine, supporting diagnostic and consultation services, and contributing to the preparation of qualified healthcare professionals across the disciplines of pathology.

General Goals

 

01 Excellence in Medical Education

To provide an advanced learning environment that supports the preparation of outstanding physicians through qualified faculty, modern laboratory and educational resources, and effective teaching approaches.

02 Development of Specialist Training

To supervise and support training programs for laboratory professionals and physicians in residency and fellowship programs across pathology specialties, contributing to the development of competent healthcare professionals.

03 Advancement of Scientific Research

To encourage and support scientific research across pathology and laboratory medicine, contributing to the advancement of medical knowledge and the improvement of healthcare practice.

04 Enhancement of Laboratory and Medical Services

To contribute to the development of laboratory and medical services provided to patients through integration with King Saud University Medical City.
