Department hours are 7:30 – 4:30, Sunday – thusday 

Divisions of each unit are as follows:

Physical Therapy Unit:

• Pediatric group – covering out and in – patients and screening in pediatric high risk clinic and NICU. It is staffed by therapist and technician (all female).
• Neurology and Medical group – covering in and out patient neurology and In – patient medical patients.
• Muscloskeletal  (out – patient) group – covering any out patients with musculoskeletal or urogynecological disorders.
• Orthopedic group – covering in and out patient orthopedic surgery patients.
• Hand therapy is a type of rehabilitation performed by an occupational or physical therapist on patients with conditions affecting the hands and upper extremities. Such therapy is performed by a provider with a high degree of specialization that requires continuing education and, often, advanced certification. This enables the hand therapist to work with patients to hasten their return to a productive lifestyle.
• Lymphoedema therapy it is to treat a chronic situation affect upper or lower limbs mainly due to inssufficant and disturbance in the lymphahatic system.
• Women health.

Occupational Therapy Unit:

In and out patients are divided according to a schedule set by the administrative supervisor. It is staffed by one female therapist and tow male technician.

Orthotics Unit:

In and out patients are seen by two male technicians.

Communication Disorders Unit:

Clinic on Sunday, Tuesday, Thrusday only.
In and out patients and screening for NICU are seen by one female therapist.

Rehabilitation Clinic:

Mainly out patients but in patients may be seen for consultation by one physiatrist and one nurse.

Psychology Unit:

Covering only out patients referred from Rehabilitation Clinic. It is staffed by one female and one male psychologist.

Social Worker:
One social worker is responsible for the department’s out – patients.

Secretary:
One full time.

TOTAL NUMBER OF REHABILITATION STAFF: 77

Number of staff covering each area is dependent on vacation schedule and the number of patients in each area. The schedule is prepared by the PT clinical supervisors and administrative supervisor approximately every six months. PT clinical supervisors are responsible for any changes in staff assignments required due to emergency, sick leave etc. in the PT Unit. Other units are arranged by the administrative supervisor.

The intern schedule is prepared by the PT clinical supervisors.

Friday duty – one physical therapist is on – call for designated orthopedic surgery in – patients from 8: 00 AM – 1:00 PM.  The schedule is available in the department and in the orthopedic wards. A technician and occupational therapist may also be assigned if necessary.

Staff are assigned during Eid holiday for in – patients only with regular working hours.
