Brief Description: This course includes study of the concept of homeostasis, body fluids composition and distribution, cellular physiology, transport mechanisms, blood physiology and autonomic nervous system.

Brief Description: This course includes the study of physiology of bone, properties of nerve fibres, resting membrane potential, nerve action potential, neuromuscular transmission, excitation-contraction coupling and physiology of muscle contraction.

Brief Description: This course includes the study of physiology of ventilation, mechanics of breathing, lung functions in health and disease, gas exchange and transfer physiology, regulation of breathing and effect of exercise on the respiratory system.

Brief Description: This course includes the study of properties of the cardiac muscle, cardiac cycle, normal electrocardiogram and cardiac arrhythmias, heart sounds and murmurs, venous return & cardiac output, heart failure, blood pressure and its regulation, capillary circulation and shock.

Applied aspects are also taught such as acromegaly, dwarfism, cretinism, myxedema, thyrotoxicosis, diabetes mellitus, cushing’s syndrome, addison’s disease, pheochromocytoma etc.
