The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at King Saud University's College of Medicine is the largest in the Kingdom and a pioneer in implementing modern teaching methods, medical education, and evaluation for medical students and interns. It also offers postgraduate programs, training orthopedic surgery fellows, and fellows in specialized fields. The department encourages and supports medical research and innovation, aiming to achieve the goals of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. Additionally, the department always focuses on serving the community, providing medical care, educating the public, and preventing diseases. The department was also a pioneer in establishing specialized units and created the first pediatric orthopedic surgery unit in the Kingdom. Currently, the department includes seven specialized units that handle and treat all musculoskeletal diseases using the latest diagnostic and treatment methods according to the best medical practices.
