About Us
Adult Psychiatry Unit at King Khalid University Hospital provides a wide range of services to adult patients, including comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and pharmacological management for cases, psychiatry inpatient admission services , individual psychotherapy, coordination with primary care physicians, consultations to other providers, and referrals for hospitalization.
Vision
To establish the unit as a regional leader in adult psychiatry by delivering exceptional mental health care, conducting innovative research, and providing comprehensive training programs that advance mental health standards and enhance patient care across the region.
Mission
To be a clinical unit of excellence in adult psychiatry, delivering evidence-based, patient-centered mental health care, fostering multidisciplinary work, and advancing education and research to address the evolving mental health needs of the community.
Adult Psychiatry Unit Tasks
• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health disorders in adults admitted to the psychiatry wards at King Saud University Medical City.
• Deliver psychiatric care for adult patients in both general and specialized outpatient psychiatry clinics.
• Facilitate multidisciplinary teamwork to achieve integrated and coordinated care.
• Train healthcare professionals in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health disorders in adults.
• Conduct innovative research to advance understanding and treatment of mental health disorders.
• Develop programs to raise awareness about mental health, provide psychoeducation for patients and their families, and advocate for mental health policies and services.
