About Us

The Cardiac Surgery Unit is committed to providing the highest quality cardiac surgical care to patients and their relatives in a professional, safe, efficient and team-based work environment. Cardiac surgery is the surgery performed by cardiac surgeons on the heart muscle, large vessels or the pericardium surrounding the heart. Cardiac surgery is part of chest surgery and is usually divided into two major sections: closed heart surgery and open heart surgery. The difference in classification between these two sections is based on the lack of need or the need to use a heart-lung machine in the operation, respectively, according to the patient's need during the operation.

Providing the highest level of special medical care for heart surgery patients from the time they enter the hospital, throughout their medical and surgical treatment journey, and follow-up services after leaving the hospital.

Cardiac Surgery Unit Tasks

The Cardiac Surgery Department provides specialized medical services including examination, diagnosis, treatment, pre- and post-operative care, in addition to treating various types of heart and artery diseases such as natural, artificial and congenital valves related to the heart muscle and arrhythmias. Surgical cases are followed up in intensive care and detailed reports are written about each case. The Cardiac Surgery Department is interested in research and studies that have affected the medical community. In addition to its important academic role in teaching, training and supervising students, nominating and sending teaching assistants and following up on their scientific and academic achievement to achieve the lofty mission of producing a generation of competent doctors.
