Muslim Medical Ethics (MEDI 395)          

When the department first  introduced this course in 1407 H ( 1986 G), it was one of the first courses of its kind in the Kingdom. It is taught in Arabic and stands for 3 credit hours for third-year medical students. In this course, students learn general ethics theories, Islamic perspective to medical ethics, local policy and regulations relevant to ethical considerations, and ethical analysis of case scenarios. The course topics include informed consent, privacy and confidentiality, scientific integrity, end-of-life issues, maternal and ob-gyne ethical issues, as well as medical errors.
